Jefferson Matters: Main Street invites all area residents to the Hometown Holiday Sparkle Community Christmas Tree Lighting in the Greene County courthouse on Thursday, Dec 5, at 5:30 p.m.
The St. Joseph Catholic Church choir will sing carols, the Jefferson United Methodist Church Bell Choir will ring in the season, there will be a very special reading of “Twas the Night Before Christmas” and, of course, Santa and Mrs. Claus will be there to help light the community Christmas tree in the rotunda of the courthouse.
The first 200 to come through the front doors of the courthouse will receive a coupon for a special free treat from Homestead Bakery, and the stores around the square will remain open throughout the evening for your shopping to begin right here in Jefferson.
From 6 to 7 p.m. Santa and Mrs. Claus will be at the top of the Bell Tower to greet those young and young at heart who would like to visit with them!
“We hope to see everyone that night to help Jefferson Matters: Main Street kick off the holiday season,” a Jefferson Matters: Main Street spokesperson said.
