The Greene County Library Association will host a training for the trustees of all county libraries Monday, Nov. 18, from 6 to 7:30 pm at the Jefferson Public Library. All trustees are required to have continuing education each year; the Nov. 18 session meets that requirement.
Speaker will be Maryann Mori, a consultant with Iowa Library Services. She will introduce trustees to the many resources at the district and state levels. Topics such as the “top five things every library trustee should know,” the board’s primary roles and its relationship with the director, an overview of the “library team,” and general meeting procedures, including the Iowa Open Meeting Law, will be covered.
