In Greene County magistrate court Elisha Marie Mischke of Jefferson was sentenced to 30 days in jail after she pleaded guilty to a charge of interference with official acts. All but two days of the jail term was suspended and she was placed on informal probation for one year. She must pay sheriff’s room and board fees for time she serves. Mischke was fined $65 with a $22.75 surcharge; both were suspended. She must pay $60 restitution for her court appointed attorney’s fees and $60 court costs. Greene County district court, week ending June 6

In Greene County district court Renae Jane Baugh, 37, of Jefferson was sentenced to two years in prison after she changed her plea to guilty to a charge of operating while intoxicated- second offense. All but seven days of the prison time was suspended; she is to serve the jail time concurrent to the sentence in an earlier OWI case. She must play sheriff’s room and board fees for the time she serves. She must complete the recommendations of a substance abuse evaluation she has already undergone, and she must complete a community college drinking drivers school. Greene County district court, week ending May 30

In Greene County district court Heidi Marie Chapman, 30, of Perry was sentenced May 24 to two years in prison after she changed her plea to guilty to a charge of operating vehicle without owner’s consent. The prison term was suspended and she was placed on probation for two years. Chapman was fined $625 with a $218.75 surcharge and a $125 Law Enforcement Initiative surcharge. She must also pay $466.36 restitution for her court appointed attorney’s fees and $777.94 court costs. (Sentencing: Honorable Joseph B. In Greene County magistrate court Dalton Weber of Jefferson was fined $65 with a $22.75 surcharge on a charge of criminal mischief, amended from disorderly conduct- fighting or violent behavior. Court costs were $60.

Police blotter – May 2019

 Following are excerpts of activities reported by the Jefferson police department:

Friday, May 31: At 9:14 pm an officer investigated a two-vehicle car-deer accident on Highway 30 at Oakland Ave east of Jefferson. Dacoda Zipse of Harlan was eastbound on Highway 30 driving a 2015 Chevrolet Malibu owned by Misty Preuschal, also of Harlan. Zipse advised he struck a deer in the roadway. The deer flew into the other lane and struck a westbound 2005 Chevrolet Silverado pickup truck operated by Brock Louk and owned by Dennis Louk of Jefferson. Damage to Preuschal’s vehicle was estimated at $10,000. Damage to Louk’s pickup truck was estimated at $500. vehicle. The 2005 Chevrolet Silverado was owned by Dennis Louk and operate by Brock Louk both of Jefferson. The Zipse vehicle suffered a reported $10,00 in damages. Sheriff’s report- May 2019

Following are excerpts of activities reported by the Greene County sheriff’s office:

Friday, May 31: At 4:41 pm the sheriff, a deputy, Greene County Ambulance, and Grand Junction fire responded to a car- tractor accident on County Road E-26 (170th St) near County Road P-33 (S Ave) in Junction Township. Michael Anderson, 57, of Eagle Grove was westbound on E-26 and attempted to pass a tractor driven by Charles Gunn, 69, of Jefferson. Gunn started to turn and Anderson struck the bucket of the tractor. There were minor injuries and no one was transported. Anderson was cited for passing at an intersection. Damage to his 2014 Ford Focus exceeded value. Damage to the loader on the tractor was estimated at $7,000. At 9:19 pm a deputy investigated a complaint of people fishing from a bridge on 26th St and Quaker Ave in Grant Township. Continue reading Sheriff’s report- May 2019

Greene County district court, week ending May 23

In Greene County district court persons pleaded not guilty at arraignments during the week ending May 23 as follows: Whitney Jean Campbell Perez, 21, of Coon Rapids, harassment- second degree; Anthony Scott Gray, 33, of Jefferson, theft- second degree; Hayley Lynn Brown, 26, of Jefferson, possession of marijuana- second offense; Randy Robert Lundberg, 51, of Jefferson, possession of marijuana- third offense and possession of methamphetamine; and John Henry Sabus, 44,of Churdan, domestic abuse assault impeding air/blood flow causing bodily injury. In Greene County district court Estavan Espinosa Jones, 27, of Des Moines was sentenced May 10 to 60 days in jail after he pleaded guilty to a charge of operating without owner’s consent, amended from theft- first degree. He will receive credit for time served and sheriff’s “good time” credit. Jones was fined $625 with a $218.75 surcharge; both were suspended. He must pay a $125 Law Enforcement Initiative surcharge, $600 restitution for his court appointed attorney’s fees and $304.33 court costs. (Sentencing: Honorable Joseph B. Greene County district court, week ending May 8

In Greene County district court Kylene Suzanne Rabourne 40, of Grand Junction was sentenced May 3 to a total of six years in prison.

In a case initiated in May 2018, Rabourne was sentenced to two-year prison terms after she changed her plea to guilty on a charge of theft- third degree and a charge of identity theft. The prison terms are consecutive, but concurrent to the prison term in a Guthrie County case. On each charge she was fined $625 with a $218.75 surcharge; the fines and surcharges were suspended. Greene County magistrate court, week ending May 8

In Greene County magistrate court a judgment for a $150 fine with a $52.50 surcharge was entered against Chad Phillip Sloan of Jefferson. Sloan was charged with assault; the charge was amended to disorderly conduct. Court costs were $60.

Cases were initiated as follows: Raelyn Ann Holmgaard of Churdan, compulsory education violation- first offense; Roxanne M. Koci of Bellevue, NE, trespass- first offense (casino self-exclusion); and Darrenn Scott Lehrkamp of Newton, theft- fifth degree.
