More Fareway gift cards for local businesses

The Jefferson Area Chamber of Commerce applied for and received $1,000 in Fareway gift cards last week, in addition to $2,000 received in April.

Fareway Stores Inc announced last month a $200,000 donation to the Iowa Chamber of Commerce Executives. The $3,000 received by the local Chamber is the maximum amount any chamber could receive.

“Local Chambers have the pulse in each community and how best to serve its small business members during this time of need,” said Fareway president and CEO Reynolds W. Cramer. “We hope this relief reduces some of the stress our community business partners are facing.”

“In an effort to help area businesses, the Chamber applied for this second round of gift cards and was pleased to receive the cards and distribute them to area businesses, We thank Fareway Stores for helping area businesses during the pandemic,” a Jefferson Area Chamber of Commerce spokesperson said.
