Glennie Sayre passed on to her final home on April 26, 2020. For the past five years she had been a resident of Brown Deer Senior Living in Coralville. She was 87 years of age.

Glennie Eileen Lane Sayre was born in Jefferson on October 31,1932, to Thomas Boston and Erma Caroline Lane. She was educated at Bristol # 6 and the Jefferson school system, graduating with the class of 1951.

She married Bernard Joseph (B.J.) Sayre and to this union two daughters were born. In 1961 the family moved to Hartley, remaining there for 32 years. She worked part- time at Jefferson Monument and the Jefferson public library while serving the community with her alteration business. She loved sewing, flowers of all kinds, reading and playing bridge. She had a love for animals, especially cats. For several years she and B.J. taught ballroom dance and duplicate bridge.
