Grab-and-Go lunches serving many

Many youth in Greene County are taking advantage of the free lunch programs put on by the Greene County school district.

Greene County superintendent Tim Christensen reported a total of 1,994 meals were served during the first week of the free lunch program.

The Greene County Cattlemen donated and grilled burgers last Friday for the grab-and-go lunches being provided to students by the Greene County and P-C districts.

Friday was a special treat as the Greene County Cattlemen’s Association donated and grilled hamburgers for students in the Greene County and Paton-Churdan school districts.

Cattlemen’s Association board of directors member Brandon Muir said after the group made a $2,000 donation to the  Greene County Action Resource Center food pantry, they wanted to give the youth a fresh meat choice and promote beef at the same time.

Greene County will continue with its Monday – Friday schedule from 11:30 am – 1 pm at  the Greene County Middle School gym and the community centers in Scranton, Grand Junction and Rippey.  ~courtesy of The Scranton Journal
