CHURCH SERVICES –
Pastors Paul Burrow and Pastor Cat have joined other pastors on Facebook to continue their ministry. Several hold church services online, and it’s nice to see former pastor Deb Parkison and hear her sing!

Palm Sunday and Easter services are going to be online. Who would have imagined it! Blessings to all through this trying time.

Hanaman highlights – Dale and Nancy Hanaman returned from a quick trip to return their granddaughters to their home in Wisconsin. Spending time with the grandchildren is always a treat, including Dale and Andrea building a bird house and cooking projects with both of them including meat balls, homemade pancakes, cookies and chocolate chip muffins. No pickles this time. We had finished the deep fried pickles at home.

Dale and Elizabeth may go into business. They also tried pickle sickles last summer made with pickle juice and discovered that the concentrated vinegar flavor was a bit overwhelming. Dale had tasted his first and after the look on his face, Elizabeth left hers on her plate!

The Hanamans packed their lunch for the trip and ate in the car with brief stops with sanitary wipes and good hand washing with bathroom stops. (Their esteemed grandparents needed more bathroom stops than they did.) They will continue school online. Steven will begin his UW-Superior studies next week. Ah, grandchildren adventures.

These are indeed challenging an unprecedented times.

AZ Visit 101 – Never did I ever think I would be an “assistant” homeschool teacher! Mom is working from home and three children are connected with their teachers, one with something called “Zoom!” I am amazed and confounded how technology is helping keep the school children in school. Lucky for us, they all want to please their teachers, so homework isn’t a problem. Lacking the interaction of their friends and the extra activities school provides, is a real downside to all of this upheaval.

After homework is finished and lunch is eaten, a 30-minute quiet time is mandatory (for me!) We have craft supplies, puzzles, Legos, and books. The park is within walking distance and there is a Sonic close by that only serves outside business anyway, so that’s a plus and an incentive for good behavior!

Like Nancy Hanaman said, “These are indeed, challenging and unprecedented times.” I, too, am glad to be where I am. It’s not boring!
