Some Scranton Manufacturing employees back to work

Scranton Manufacturing released the following statement early Wednesday afternoon:

Scranton, IA – Scranton Manufacturing employees are beginning to return to work Wednesday morning following a fire that damaged one of three paint booths at the Scranton facility on Monday evening. Although the fire was contained to a small area, smoke damage is preventing a return to full operation until clean-up activities can be completed.

Some business functions are being temporarily relocated to other company facilities in Scranton and Carroll during the clean-up process, and phone service will be restored as a result. Our Carroll-based Parts Department and Booneville, MS, manufacturing facility are both fully operational.

“We are thankful that no one was injured during the incident, and we are proud of our employee-family as they rally to get us back to full operation as quickly as possible,” said Mike McLaughlin, CEO of New Way Trucks.

The Scranton facility will be open and accepting deliveries Wednesday morning, and finished units will continue to ship as well.

We aim to provide further updates about this incident as more information becomes available.
