Greene County magistrate court, week ending Feb. 17

In Greene County magistrate court Dalton Weber of Jefferson was granted a deferred judgment Feb. 12 on a charge of domestic abuse assault. He must complete the Iowa domestic abuse program at his own expense and he will be on informal probation for one year. A judgment was entered for a $65 civil penalty with a $100 domestic abuse surcharge. Court costs were $207.10.

Zachary Allen Smith of Jefferson was sentenced to two days in jail on a charge of public intoxication. The jail time was suspended and he was placed on informal probation for one year. He was fined $65 with a $22.75 surcharge. A charge of consumption of alcohol in a public place by a minor was dismissed.

Cases were initiated in magistrate court as follows: Tanner James Hagar of Jefferson, possession of drug paraphernalia; Ryan Douglas Patterson of Jefferson, violation of no contact order; Dakota Bradley Barrett of Dayton, possession of drug paraphernalia; Joshua’s Jay Blumberg of Grand Junction, possession of drug paraphernalia; and Whitney Jean Campbell Perez of Coon Rapids, possession of drug paraphernalia.
