Mental health awareness program Jan. 29

Rescheduled to Wednesday, Jan. 29

The central Iowa affiliate of NAMI (National Alliance on Mental Illness) will bring “Ending the Silence”, an evidence-based mental health awareness presentation to Jefferson Wednesday, Jan. 22, at 7 pm at Trinity Lutheran Church.

Two presentations will take place simultaneously – one for youth ages 13-18, and one for parents, grandparents, caregivers and other interested adults.

The 50-minute presentations feature young adult presenters who will share their own personal mental health story from onset to recovery.

The public is welcome and there is no charge. Participants will learn the warning signs of mental illness/suicide, what to do, who to talk with, and how to end the silence that surround mental illness.

Persons who want more information can contact NAMI of Central Iowa at 515-292-9400 or email namiofci@gmail.com.

The snow date is Jan. 29 at 7 pm.
