Greene County district court, ending Jan. 10

In Greene County district court Logan Lee Staley, 28, of Webster City was sentenced Jan. 6 to 10 years in prison after he changed his plea to guilty to a charge of theft- first degree. The prison term was suspended and he was placed on probation for three years. He must complete inpatient substance abuse treatment during his probation. Staley was fined $1,000 with a $350 surcharge and a $125 Law Enforcement Initiative surcharge. Court costs were $3,575. A charge of burglary- third degree was dismissed. Laurann Joyce Perry, 23, of Perry was sentenced to 10 days in jail after she changed her plea to guilty to a charge of driving while license barred. She will receive credit for time served. She was fined $625 with a $218.75 surcharge. The court ruled she is unable to pay restitution for her court appointed attorney’s fees or court costs. (Sentencing: Honorable Joseph B. McCarville)

Caitlyn Day, 27, of Paton was fined $65 with a $22.75 surcharge after she pleaded guilty to a charge of criminal mischief- fifth degree, amended from criminal mischief- third degree. She must also pay $210 victim restitution and $200 restitution for her court appointed attorney’s fees. Court costs were $100. (Sentencing: McCarville)

Elisha Zechariah Hiram Ward, 19, of Jefferson was sentenced to two days in jail after he changed his plea to guilty to a charge of possession of marijuana. The jail time was suspended; if he eventually serves it, the term will be consecutive to the term in Greene County felony case. He was placed on probation to Boone/Greene County Probation for 12 months. He must undergo a substance abuse evaluation and complete any recommended treatment at his own expense. Ward must pay a $315 fine with a $110.25 surcharge, a $10 drug abuse resistance education (DARE) surcharge and a $125 LEI surcharge. Court cots were $136. (Sentencing: McCarville)

George Jason Zepp, 49, of Jefferson was sentenced to seven days in jail after he changed his plea to guilty to a charge of possession of marijuana- second offense. He will receive credit for time served. He must undergo a substance abuse evaluation and complete any recommended treatment at his own expense. He was fined $315 with a $110.25 surcharge, a $10 DARE surcharge and a $125 LEI surcharge. Court costs were $100. (Sentencing: McCarville)

Gary Wayne Lincoln, 60, of Dexter was sentenced to 30 days in jail after he changed his plea to guilty to a charge of operating while intoxicated. All but two days of the jail time was suspended and he was placed on informal probation for one year. He may complete a 48-hour weekend offender program in lieu of the jail time. If he does not do that, he must complete an community college drinking drivers school. He must undergo a substance abuse evaluation and complete any recommended treatment at his own expense. Lincoln was fined $1,250 with a $437.50 surcharge and a $10 DARE surcharge. Court costs were $150. (Sentencing: McCarville)

Persons pleaded not guilty at arraignment as follows: Isaiah Jerrell Roy Burt, 32, of Boone, unauthorized use of credit less than $1,000 (three counts) and identity theft less than $1,000 (three counts; Dalton Zachariah Haggerty, 25, of Pace, FL, operating while intoxicated; Brock Michael Igou, 20, of Fort Dodge, possession of marijuana; Christian Remberto Paniagua, 24, of Jefferson, possession of marijuana; Annette Renee Bohl, 60, of Adel, driving while license revoked; Justin Joe Downs, 34, of Churdan, false imprisonment and burglary- second degree; Jose Carmen Diaz Corona, 58, of Perry, driving while license barred; Scott Randolph Luke, 31, of Grand Junction, driving while license barred; Eric Anthony Greyson, 37, of Jefferson, possession of marijuana; Kenneth Eugene Rosenow, 60, of Farlin, operating while intoxicated; and Michelle Lynn Anderson, 45, of Mitchhellville, theft- fourth degree, forgery, and identity theft less than $1,000. Trial dates were set for March 3 for every defendant except Downs. His trial date was set for April 7.
