The Ring Out for Art 2020 “Call to Sculptors” is now available. The Greene County board of supervisors, Tower View Team and Home State Bank invite sculptors to submit entries to the juried contest.  This is the fifth year of the exhibit of original outdoor sculptures.

Three sculptures will be selected by the committee composed of the three entities involved and approved by the board of supervisors.  They will be critiqued on artistic merit, creativity, public safety and durability for the outdoor environment.  Sculptures must fit within a 4′ x 4′ square with no height requirement.

The creators of the three sculptures selected will received a $1,000 stipend. The sculptures will be displayed on the courthouse grounds during the summer and fall. An online public vote will be held to choose one sculpture that will remain until April 1, 2021.  That sculptor will receive an additional $500.

Artists may submit up to five entries for jury by March 16, 2020.  A high-quality photo of the sculpture and/or a scale model of front and back of each sculpture is required along with other information.  The sculpture is owned by the artist and loaned to the exhibit from May 1, 2020 through Nov. 1, 2020.

Co-chairs of this project are Roger Aegerter and Debra McGinn of Jefferson Matters: Main Street’s Tower View Team.

Ring Out for Art applications can be found on the website: www.jeffersonmatters.org under Resources, at the Main Street office at 110 W Lincoln Way, or by sending an email request to director@jeffersonmatters.org.
