Finches make first payment toward $100,000 pledge for career academy

Emily Finch, Greene County High School class of 2018, presented a check for $35,000 to the Greene County Schools on behalf of her grandparents, Dick and Delores Finch. The funds are designated for construction of the Greene County Career Academy.

The $35,000 is part of a $100,000 commitment Dick and Delores made to construction of the career academy in February 2018. Their commitment was prior to the passage of the bond referendum and was a major endorsement for the career academy/high school project.

In a letter announcing the donation, Dick Finch called the career academy “a most important project for the future of Greene County and its residents.”

He requested not that his generosity be recognized in the building, but that something in the career academy recognize Chris Deal for his insight in initiating the project.
