Predicted snowfall amount has been decreased
The National Weather Service has upgraded a Winter Storm Watch to a Winter Storm Warning for northwest Iowa, and has added a Winter Weather Advisory for 10 neighboring counties. Greene County is in the advisory area.
At the same time, as of 6 pm Monday, the National Weather Service has changed its forecast downward for the amount of snow predicted in Greene County. The Sunday evening situation report put much of Greene County in an area expected to received 4-6 inches of snow. The newer forecast calls for 2-3 inches in the northwest half of the county and 1-2 inches in the southeast half.
The NWS has not changed its predictions of high winds. Gusts of up to 40 mph are expected Tuesday night into Wednesday morning.
