Winter weather advisory in effect

Greene County is under a winter weather advisory now through Tuesday morning as snow and an early season Arctic cold blast moves through Iowa.

Snow is predicted to spread across Iowa Sunday night and taper off early to mid-morning Monday. Areas of blowing snow and icy roads are expected through Monday morning, along with near record cold temperatures and wind chills Monday into Tuesday.

NNW winds of 15-25 mph with gusts up to 30 mph are predicted, primarily in central and southern Iowa. Visibility may be reduced to one-half mile at times.
