The Jefferson police department recently received a $1,500 grant from the Alliant Energy Foundation to update emergency lighting equipment in a patrol car.

According to JPD captain Heath Enns, the new lighting equipment will not only keep the officers safe in the patrol vehicle as they respond to an emergency, but it will also enhance public safety.

He thanked the Alliant Energy Foundation for enhancing the department’s safety.
