Trick-or-Treat has new look in some towns

Towns around Greene County have made plans for youngsters to enjoy Halloween as follows:

Grand Junction: Saturday, Oct. 26, Trunk-or-Treat on Main St from 5:30 – 7 pm. Grand Junction fire and rescue will host its Halloween Safe House at the fire station during Trunk-or-Treat.

Scranton: Wednesday, Oct. 30: Halloween “Trunk-or-Treat” on Main Street on the Library block from 5 to 7 p.m. in lieu of the traditional door-to-door Beggar’s Night.

The city will close Main Street (from Peoples Bank to Scranton Telephone) at 4:30 p.m. on October 30 to prepare for this event. Businesses and individuals who would like to decorate the trunk of their car, bed of their truck, or around their parking space for handing out candy need to be parked on Main Street before 4:30.

Persons who have questions about the event or for trunk decorating ideas, can call Wendy Johnson at the library, or call 712-652-3453 during library hours.
