High schools hold homecomings next week

Greene County and Paton-Churdan high schools will celebrate homecoming next week with a theme, “Fight Together; Win Together”.

The Greene County senior class selected its homecoming court. The court includes Sophia Ausberger, Izzy Bravard, Nicole Rasmussen, Kassie Lamoureux and Sophia Havens, along with Brent Riley, Will Hansen, Tyler Miller, Cole Betts and Colby Kafer.

Paton-Churdan will select a king and queen during a snowcoming celebration during the winter.

Homecoming events for the community are schedules as follows:
• Sunday, Sept. 29 – Powderpuff football at 4 pm at Linduska Field. Admission is a non-perishable item for the ARC food pantry.
• Monday, Sept. 30 – 2K glow-run starting in the GrCoHS parking lot. Glow sticks will be available for $1.
• Tuesday, Oct. 1 – Home volleyball vs PCM at the middle school; Freshmen/JV at 5 pm, varsity at 6:30.
• Wednesday, Oct 2 – Jersey auction at 7 pm at Clover Hall at the fairgrounds, followed by community bonfire and pep rally in the grandstands.
• Friday, Oct 4 – Parade begins at 2 pm from the gravel parking lot at Linduska Field, following the usual route north on Chestnut St, then counter-clockwise around the courthouse square. Coronation will follow the parade on the south side of the courthouse.

The Rams will play the Kuemper (Carroll) Knights at 7pm for the homecoming football game.
