Taser demo Friday at the LEC

McGinn will receive the poke

The taser  demonstration originally slated for August as part of National Night Out, and then rescheduled to half-time of the Sept. 13 home football game, will be Friday afternoon at 4 pm at the entry doors to the Greene County Law Enforcement Center, 204 S. Chestnut St in Jefferson.

The change of location  is due to liability issues involved in doing it on school property.

Andy McGinn is the “winner” of voting to select who will be tased. In $$=votes balloting, McGinn received 337.3 votes. Brian Phillips was second with 167.25 votes and Tyler Westhoff received 65.45 votes.

Other vote tallies were Jamie Daubendiek, 63; Scott Johnson, 60.94; Carl Behne and Simeon Lang, 26 votes each; Zach Beekman, 11; Emily Gannon, 4; and Chris Deal, 2.

The total number of votes cast/ money raised was $762.94. The funds will be used by the Greene County Peace Officers Association.
