The Greene County cross country teams competed in the West Central Valley Classic in Redfield on Thursday, Sept. 5.

The girls finished third out of nine teams while the boys were fourth of 11 teams.

“It was a bit warm but the kids fought through and had a great day competing,” stated coach Jeff Lamoureux. “It’s nice to see Greene County near the top. We have some work to do to be able to compete with some of the elite teams like Nodaway Valley and Panorama but we are definitely headed in the right direction.”

Topping the Rams teams were Ashlee Harmeyer with a ninth place finish and Luis Velazco in 11th place.

Nodaway Valley edged out Panorama for the girls team title while the NV boys were also first across the finish line.
