Jr black belt to Aden Bardole

Aden Bardole, a sixth grader at Greene County Middle School, was awarded his junior black belt in tae kwon do Aug. 25. He tested for the degree July 26 at Shin’s Tae Kwon Do Academy in Carroll.

Aden has studied tae kwon do for five years. He said he started learning the martial art as a way to protect himself. “Learning tae kwon do really helped me persevere and focus. I have more confidence now,” he said.

He is the son of Pete and Yvette Bardole. His mother says he has learned life skills from tae kwon do. “We have noticed that he is able to control and focus when he is frustrated. He has become much more confident,” she said.

Aden’s tae kwon do instructor is fourth degree black belt Corey McGrauth. “Aden has been an excellent student to work with. His testing really pushed his level of perseverance. I’m proud of what he has accomplished,” McGrauth said.

Aden also enjoys 4-H, soccer, and acting.

McGrauth teaches the Jefferson park and recreation department’s tae kwon do classes. Persons who want more information about the classes can call the Greene County Community Center at 515-386-3412.
