ReCharge Wednesday, other programs return to JPRD

ReCharge Wednesday is returning to the Greene County Community Center with the start of the new school year.

Students in grades K-5 are invited to participate in this free program Wednesdays from 2 to 3:30 pm. Healthy snacks and organized games will be provided. JPRD staff will escort younger students from the middle school bus drop-off to the community center.
Recharge Wednesday will meet every Wednesday afternoon school is in session, unless school is dismissed early due to the weather.

It is free with sponsorship by McFarland Clinic providers.

Parents MUST register their children prior to attending ReCharge. The first session is Aug. 28.

Registration is open for other JPRD programs.

Children ages 4 and 5 are welcome to play U6 soccer. Participants will learn soccer basics through drills and games. Sessions are Mondays, Sept. 9 through Oct. 7, from 5:45 to 6:45 pm at Kelso Park.

There is a $20 fee for the program. Shin guards are mandatory. Registration deadline is Sept. 5.

Mini cheerleading and mini color guard will meet the week of Sept. 16 and perform at the Ram home football game Sept. 20. Children in PreK through fifth grade are welcome.

Mini color guard will meet Monday, Sept. 16, from 3:45 to 5 pm, and Wednesday, Sept. 18, from 2:15 to 3:30 pm at the community center. The fee is $15. Registration deadline is Sept. 13.

Mini cheerleading will meet Tuesday and Thursday, Sept. 17 and 19, from 3:30 to 5 pm at Greene County elementary school. A snack will be provided. There is a $15 fee for the program; T-shirts will be available at an additional cost. The registration deadline is Sept. 17.

Punt, Pass & Kick for children ages 6-15 is slated for Tuesday, Sept. 17, at Kelso Park. Check-in will begin at 6 pm with competition starting at 6:30. There is no fee for the competition. Pre-registration is not required by appreciated. The rain date is Sept. 24.
