350 classic vehicles shown at Hot August Night

Thursday was a beautiful day for the Hot August Night show on the courthouse square in Jefferson. Moderate temperatures brought about 350 entries to the annual display of classic vehicles.

They don’t make them like they used to. The owner of this 1959 Ford Skyliner convertible was enticed to demonstrate how the roof of the vehicle retracts and folds into the trunk during Hot August Night in Jefferson on August 8. He then showed the interested bystanders how the roof advanced out of the trunk and attached to the front windshield, all using the vehicle’s power supply. Beautiful weather brought about 350 vehicles and hundreds of onlookers to the courthouse square Thursday evening for the annual car, truck, tractor and motorcycle show. | Scranton Journal photo
