21st Century Rehab gets school sports medicine contract

21st Century Rehab has, for the third consecutive year, been awarded the Greene County school district’s sports medicine coverage contract for the upcoming school year. Deb Morton, 21st Century Rehab director, said, “We are proud to support the health and well-being of our student athletes.”

As in previous years, the contract includes athletic coverage with a certified athletic trainer/physical therapist in attendance at home and away varsity football games and home JV football games. The contract also covers all other home varsity sports – volleyball, boys and girls basketball, wrestling, soccer, baseball, softball and track. Postseason coverage is included for varsity football, soccer, softball and baseball.

Middle school sports covered in the contract include home football, wrestling and track meets.

21st Century Rehab will continue offering the concussion prevention program by conducting pre-participation concussion baseline screenings for athletes, using ImPact concussion software. Morton noted that “the ImPACT program is the only FDA approved neurocognitive test which gives us a clearer picture on safe return to school and sport for our student athletes.”

21st Century Rehab also provides a free first visit to the 21st Century Rehab clinic at Greene County Medical Center for any student athlete with a sports-related injury.
