Jefferson Telecom upgrading TV system

Jefferson Telecom is starting preparations for a major upgrade in the TV offering in Jefferson and the surrounding rural service area. Fiber technology that has been deployed throughout the Jefferson Telecom service area allows for enhancements in the quality and performance of phone, Internet, and television services.

The advanced TV system will run off the buried fiber optic cables versus the traditional overhead cable TV lines. The new TV platform provides crystal clear picture and sound, high definition channels with all packages, whole home cloud DVR, and innovative features.

Jefferson Telecom chief operating officer, Jamie Daubendiek said, “We are anxious to hear the feedback from our customers as they are converted to the enhanced TV offering. The added features such as DVR functionality on all TV’s, instant weather, restart feature for programs already in session, On Demand access to Greene County video content, caller ID on your TV, and an app to turn your handheld device into a remote all provide added functionality for a better viewing experience.”

Daubendiek continued, “Our goal is to have all Jefferson Telecom customers converted by the end of 2019. We have partnered with JCS, Inc. from Minnesota to assist with the conversion process to ensure the project is completed in a timely manner and provide customer education on the added features.” The JCS, Inc. contracted staff will be identified by a JCS, Inc. logo’d vehicle and shirt.

Jefferson Telecom staff will  contact all current TV customers to schedule a convenient appointment time to enter each home to complete needed installation as all TV’s will need a box in order to receive programming. Jefferson Telecom appreciates customer’s cooperation to maintain that the conversion is completed in a timely fashion.

All Jefferson Telecom current cable TV customers are required to convert to the new system as the company plans to retire the outdated overhead cable TV plant once the conversion is complete.
