J-S grads to perform at Thomas Jefferson Gardens

The Thomas Jefferson Gardens of Greene County board invites everyone to a concert by professional singers Ashley Sievers and Shelby Sievers VanNordstrand on Sunday, Aug. 4 at 2 pm in the Gardens.

There will be no charge for the concert but a free will offering will be taken. Refreshments will be served by the Thomas Jefferson Gardens board.

Board members are very pleased to welcome these two native daughters who are now professional vocalists back to Jefferson.

Ashley Sievers, Jefferson-Scranton class of 2007, is a mezzo soprano with bachelor and masters degrees in music and vocal performance. She is the chair of the Vocal Arts Department at the St. Paul Conservatory for Performing Artists in St. Paul, MN.

Shelby Sievers VanNordstrand

Shelby Sievers VanNordstrand, J-S class of 2000, a soprano, earned a bachelor and masters degree in music education and vocal performance. She is an associate professor of voice and vocal area coordinator at the University of Nebraska at Omaha.

Both sisters have appeared with a wide range of ensembles and companies and will perform a varied and entertaining program for the community. All are welcome to bring a lawn chair and enjoy an afternoon of great music, dessert and fellowship.
