Rosemary Trucks, 1940 – 2019

Rosemary Trucks, 79, of Jefferson, died July 6, 2019 at Mary Greeley Center Israel Family Hospice House in Ames. Visitation with family and friends will be held from 5 to 7 pm Friday, July 12,  at Slininger-Schroeder Funeral Home in Jefferson.

Rosemary G. Trucks was born on the family farm on May 15, 1940, in Greenbrier Township, Greene County. She was the daughter of William E. Dawson and Ollie (Wagner) Dawson. She was raised on the farm and attended school in Bagley.

Rosemary married Franklin Trucks in 1958, and was divorced from him in 1980. Rosemary lived most of her life in the Jefferson and Greene County area. She cooked at area restaurants, worked at nursing homes, and did other various jobs to support her children.

Rosemary was a member of the Methodist Church. She enjoyed playing cards and board games. She loved crossword puzzles, photography, and she was a big NASCAR fan.

Rosemary was preceded in death by her parents; son Ricky; grandson,  Cody; sisters Vivian Rasmussen and Wanda Allen; and brothers Wayne Dawson and Roger Dawson.

She is survived by her children,John Trucks and Terry (Kary) Winebrenner of Grand Junction, Mickey (Cindy Schmick) Trucks of Loveland, CO, and Jim Trucks of Jefferson; granddaughter Nikki Winebrenner of Des Moines;  great-grandchildren: Andrew and Logan;  step-grandchildren Annie and Vincent; sisters Glenda Venteicher of Jefferson and Phyllis Weaver of Washington; brother Eldon Dawson of Guthrie Center; other relatives; and friends.
