Community Players raise $1,100 for animal shelter

Audiences enjoyed the spring production of “Death by Dessert” and helped the Community Players of Greene County raise funds for the Greene County animal shelter.

Community Players president Clay Ross recently presented Don Orris a check for $1,100, the net proceeds from the April production.

Orris is spearheading the effort to raise funds for construction of a new shelter. “We’re very grateful to the Community Players and to everyone who has supported our effort,” Orris said

Persons who want to donate to the animal shelter can take checks payable to City of Jefferson with “Animal shelter” in the memo line to city hall.

Meanwhile, watch for a casting call for a fall production of Thornton Wilder’s classic, “Our Town,” and for an announcement of a late winter musical.
