Absentee voting is now open for the Jefferson special election slated for June 25.
Ballots are available in the county auditor’s office at the courthouse from 8 am to 4:30 pm, Monday through Friday.
Amelia Carman, Darren Jackson, Michael A. Mentzer and Mark Wright are running to fill a vacant council seat.
The winner of the special election will serve until Dec. 31, 2021, the expiration of former council member Teeples’ term.
