GrCo baseball loses fourth straight game

It’s been a rough week for Greene County baseball. The Rams’ recent skid continued Friday night with a 10-3 loss to Winterset.

The Rams had a tough job to do, with multiple players from the team having played in the boys’ soccer team’s state tournament quarterfinals match earlier in the day. It didn’t seem to affect senior Austin Delp, though, as he recorded three hits and had one RBI.

His hits accounted for three of the seven total hits from the Rams. Winterset took the lead early and had built a 6-0 run after the third inning.

Despite a run from the Rams in each of the final three innings, the Huskies actually increased their lead, scoring four runs in the final two innings to reach double-digits and send Greene County to 2-4 on the season.

The Rams play Dallas Center-Grimes Saturday afternoon.
