Rotary provides funds for Webb House

Middle school students who use the Webb House are enjoying a new outdoor dodge ball court funded through a grant from the Jefferson Rotary Foundation.

The new sturdy structure replaces a structure made of PVC pipe and plastic snow fence that proved not to be as rugged as the players.

Pictured with the Webb House “crew” on a typical Wednesday afternoon are Rotarians Chris Durlam and Sam Harding (back row, second and third from left).

The $3,013 grant also covered the cost of safer, more permanent standards for the volleyball net. Webb House organizers learned the old standards – posts set in a tire filled with concrete – don’t meet current safety recommendations.

Enjoying an energetic game of dodge ball.
