Rams at 9-5 in soccer after Saturday win

The Ram boys soccer hosted the Raiders of East Sac County Saturday, topping the visitors 8-0.

The Rams are still playing without goalie Cael Fisher. Coach Carl Behne reports freshman Nathan Black placed 50 minutes in the box and had three saves. Junior Yunior Carballo played 30 minutes and had one save.

As Ram fans learn more about soccer they’re learning the lingo. Junior Gutierrez and Luis Velazco had “hat tricks”, meaning they scored three goals each. Carballo and Austin Delp had one goal each. Delp, Velazco and Gutierrez were each credited with an assist as well. F

Behne said it was “overall a pretty good win.” He’s eager for the return of Cael Fisher after a medical absence so the team can get its “form and flow” back.

The Rams are 9-5 with two regular season games remaining: Monday against Panorama in Grand Junction and Thursday at Carroll against Kuemper Catholic.
