The weather was just about perfect for the annual Easter egg hunt at the Greene County Community Center Saturday morning.
About 135 children took about two minutes to clean the playground and yards of hundreds of plastic eggs set out by members of the Jefferson Kiwanis Club.
The event is co-sponsored by Jefferson park and recreation department and the Kiwanis Club, and GrCo High School Interact Club members helped, too. Claire Teusch dressed as the Easter bunny when egg hunt organizers learned the real Easter bunny had snitched too many chocolate eggs from children’s baskets and was indisposed.
Candy and prizes were donated by A & W Family Restaurant, Bomgaars, Breadeaux Pizza, Dunkers by Matt, Casey’s General Store, Dean and Cassie Dozier, Dairy Queen, Fareway, HyVee, Home State Bank, Jefferson Telecom, Teeples Heating & Cooling, Wells Fargo Bank and Wild Rose Casino.
