More information will be available and potential vendors and dinner providers are invited to bring samples to share.

Greene County Farmers Market begins June 4 and continues on Tuesdays through Sept. 24 on the courthouse square. Hours are 4 to 6:30 with set-up times from 3 to 4 pm.

The Greene County farmers market is an IDALS-sanctioned market, which basically guarantees that all products sold at market are produced in the state and sold by the persons who grew or made them. Certified vendors can accept Farmers Market Seniors and WIC checks.

Fresh fruits and vegetables, baked goods (breads, cakes, cookies, non-custard pies), jams and jellies, and hand crafted items all fall under those regulations. Iowa wines, craft beers and hard ciders, meat and eggs have specific considerations, but can be sold at market.

A daily market manager is being recruited. Persons who want more information about the position or the market can contact Chris Henning 515-370-2436 or see Greene County Farmers Market Facebook page.
