GrCoHS art students do well at HOIAC Fine Arts Festival

Greene County High School art students participated in the Heart of Iowa Activities Conference Fine Arts Festival, held Feb. 28 at North Polk High School.

Art teacher Sarah Stott called it “another great year” for her students. Junior Sophia Ausberger won Best of Show with her acrylic mixed media painting. Greene County students have won Best of Show three of the last four years. Jenna Beyers and Trey Hinote won Student Choice awards.

The complete list of winners includes Regan Williams and Lexi Miller (2), oils; Andrea Quezada, pencil; Samantha Behne, Lizzy Allen and David Richter, pastel; Lia Lenchanko, Andrea Quezada, Afton Funcke and Madison Truitt, printmaking; Andrea Quezada, water color; Madison Truitt, mixed media; Kyla Beyers, Tempera; Kyle Hack and Corey Higgins, wheel thrown; Regan Williams, hand built ceramics; Samantha Behne, charcoal; and Andrea Quezada and Jayden Carstens, colored pencil.
