FFA members at legislative symposium

Greene County FFA members traveled to the state capitol Feb. 14 to meet with state senator Jerry Behn to discuss the importance of agriculture education and student organizations such as FFA.

Additionally, members attended presentations at the Embassy Suites in downtown Des Moines, where the Iowa Farm Bureau president Craig Hill, secretary of agriculture Mike Naig, and Lt Gov Adam Gregg spoke, recognizing the industry of agriculture in Iowa and the pipeline of skilled workers agriculture education provides.

The lieutenant governor concluded the conference by signing the annual proclamation of National FFA Week Feb. 16-23.
