In the neighborhood

Feb. 18, 2019

Lions Club notice – The Rippey Lions Club will hold its regular meeting Thursday, Feb. 21, at the Rippey United Methodist Church. The meal will be served at 7 pm by Maralynn Rinker and Nancy Hanaman. Rick Fazel will present the program.

Surprise visit – Connie Neese was pleasantly surprised this week when she received a visit from her first cousin and husband, Linda and David Gustafson. They were traveling from California to their home in Duluth, MN, after spending a few months touring in the warmer states. It had been many years since the women had seen each other and a lot of catching up was enjoyed.

Visit family – Dale and Nancy Hanaman have ventured to northern Wisconsin to visit with Matthew Hanaman and Heather Lee and family in Eau Claire. They report it is really frigid and there is much more snow piled on the ground and the rooftops than at home. They hope to travel home between weather events this week.

Don’t forget “Art on the Fly” on Tuesday, Feb. 26, from 6 to 9 pm in the community room. Jolene Peters will again be the instructor for the “Hello Felt” event. Join us for an evening of fun as we learn how to combine painting and felt succulents.

Jolene instructs in a step-by-step manner, so no prior art experience is needed. Cost for this 12” x 12” painting is $35 and all supplies are included. Everyone is welcome. To register for the class, call or text Art on the Fly/Jolene Peters at 515-370-2824.
