‘Plant doctor’ Jean Walker to speak at TJ Gardens

The Greene County “plant doctor,” also known as Jean Walker (board member of the Thomas Jefferson Gardens), will be offer tips and advice on caring and growing plants.

The presentation will be hosted by the Thomas Jefferson Gardens board Tuesday, Feb. 19, from 1 to 2 pm at the Welcome Center at the gardens.
Walker encourages attendees to bring their sick and dying plants and she will offer suggestions on bringing them back to life.

Jean Walker is pictured with what Jean calls “easy to maintain” plants that will bring warmth and beauty to your home during this long and bleak winter of 2019. The African Mask plant and the Kimberly Queen fern are shown along with yellow blooming flowers from the Kalonchoes plant and some small succulents.

There will be no charge for this informational presentation, but donations will be accepted to purchase plants and seeds for the upcoming spring plantings in Thomas Jefferson Gardens.

Light refreshments will be served by the TJG board.
