Medical center offers healthcare education scholarships

Applications for scholarships offered by Greene County Medical Center and its Auxiliary are now being accepted with a deadline of March 20, 2019.

The medical center offers a Healthcare Scholarship of up to $1,000 per year for up to four years to persons in the medical center’s service area who are entering or are already attending college in a healthcare field.

In addition, the medical center’s Auxiliary offers six $500 scholarships to persons in the medical center’s service area who are entering or are already attending college in a healthcare field. The Auxiliary scholarship requires a 15-minute interview, which will be scheduled either the morning of Saturday, April 6, or the afternoon of Wednesday, April 10.

The purpose of both scholarships is to lend financial aid to students in the medical center’s service area to help obtain nursing education or education in a health-related field. Scholarships can also help ensure future healthcare professionals to help meet the future staffing needs of the medical center.

Scholarship applications, as well as references and transcripts, are due by Wednesday, March 20, 2019. Interview appointments can be set up immediately.

Complete rules, application forms and requirements have been sent to area high schools and are also available on the medical center’s website at www.gcmchealth.com. Look under the “about” tab and click on “scholarship information.”

All applications, references and transcripts must be sent or delivered to Tori Jamison, administrative assistant, at Greene County Medical Center by the March 20, 2019, deadline.

Persons who want more information or to set up an interview appointment can contact Tori Jamison at 515-386-0102
