The Greene County Godzillas team competed in the regional round of First Lego League competition on Sunday, Dec. 2, on the Des Moines Area Community College campus in Boone.
The team put in many hours of practice this fall and performed well in the categories of Robot Performance, Research, and Core Values. The Godzillas were presented with the Project Award in recognition of their research and innovative solutions to problems astronauts face in space.
The First Lego League team is sponsored by the Greene County Extension office and is coached by Jason Smith, Wendy Vander Linden, Mark Vander Linden, and Extension Youth Coordinator Kayla Willms.
