Greene County football player Tyler Miller has announced  he will become an Iowa State Cyclone in 2020.

The 6’ 9” junior was offered a scholarship by ISU head coach Matt Campbell. The recruit was pursued as an offensive left tackle by several Division 1 schools.

Greene County head coach Mitch Moore was a recruiter on Campbell’s staff before taking the job at Greene County in 2017. Moore said he did not influence Miller.

“I took him to places, Nebraska, Minnesota, Notre Dame and Iowa City, as well as Iowa State, and told him he had to explore all his options because ultimately it would come down to where he feels is the best fit.”

Miller is the son of Mark and Jennifer Miller of Churdan. He was named a first team All-State player in Class 2A this season.

He attended Paton-Churdan until the current school year, when he open enrolled to Greene County. He is out for the Ram basketball team but is ineligible to play until Jan. 15 due to his open enrollment status. He was able to play football because of the athletic sharing agreement for football between  P-C and Greene County.
