JPD tells sTEP results

Jefferson police officers wrote 15 citations and issued 90 warnings during a special Traffic Enforcement Project Nov. 18-25.

Citations were issued as follows: .02 violation, 1; speed, 4; stop sign/light violation, 1; driving without a license, 2; suspended or revoked, 1; registration, 2; no proof of insurance, 3; and equipment violation, 1.

Two persons were given field sobriety tests and warned. Other warnings were as follows: seat belt usage, 2; speed, 13; stop sign/ light violation, 5; texting while driving, 2; registration 12; no proof of insurance, 17; improper passing, 1; dark windows, 2; equipment, 24; move over violation, 5; and other traffic violations, 5.

Officers assisted two motorists.
