Again this year, as a community service project, the Greenbrier 4-H club members filled Christmas shoeboxes for children in need in other countries around the world. The boxes will be delivered to children whose parents couldn’t afford to buy school supplies, hygiene items, and special fun things.

Each member chose a specific age of a boy or girl to surprise with special trinkets and toys. As Joel Schroeder chose a small car for his box he said, “I think this little boy might like two cars!” so he chose to put another one in his box. All of the 4-H’ers had fun searching for items that would please other children their age.

To finish the boxes, hygiene items and school supplies were added. In all 20 boxes were filled. Taylor Gierstorf said , ”This was a fun way to make some other children happy at Christmas”.
