Hoyle, Miller named All-State gridiron players

Greene County Rams Bryce Hoyle and Tyler Miller were named to the Class 2A first team All-State football team by the Iowa Print Sports Writers Association. Miller is an offensive tackle and Hoyle a defensive lineman.

The two played key roles in a stellar season for coach Mitch Moore’s team. The Rams went from 1-8 each of the past two seasons to 8-2 this year, including a co-championship in District 9, and advancing to the 2A playoffs.

“Both had terrific seasons, and to me it started in their off-season,” noted coach Moore. “They were tremendous leaders and worked hard to shape their bodies and change their diets. That carried over into the football season. They put themselves in position to play both sides of the ball and play about 90 percent of the snaps all season long. Tyler is a spectacle at 6’ 9” and 285 lbs and is as good a left tackle as there is. I’ve said that all season long. Bryce is a guy with a tremendous motor and is skilled at the D-line position. With his size and speed he was unblockable most of the year.”  ~courtesy of The Scranton Journal
