Holiday of Lights now at Greene County Medical Center

The Holiday of Lights, hosted by the Greene County Medical Center auxiliary, is now in progress in the main lobby at the medical center.

A wide variety of decorated Christmas trees, wreaths, door decorations and centerpieces are being sold by silent auction now through Monday, Dec. 10. Bidding will close at 4 pm that day and the high bidders can take their items home then to enjoy during the holidays.

Proceeds from Holiday of Lights will go toward equipment purchases.

The Holiday of Lights is just one of several opportunities for the public to support the auxiliary this holiday season.

Collective Goods will have its wares in the main lobby of the medical center Tuesday, Dec. 11, from 10 am to 4 pm, and Wednesday, Dec. 12, from 7 am to 2:30 pm. Collective Goods will bring books, jewelry, purses, small electronics, toys and other gift items perfect for Christmas giving.

Mark your calendars now for the annual auxiliary candy sale Thursday, Dec. 20, starting at 7 am on the main lobby. The treats go fast, so shoppers are advised to come early.
The auxiliary’s Gift Garden is open week days from 9 am to 4 pm. Special holiday ours are Saturdays Nov. 17, Dec. 8 and Dec. 15 from 10 am to 2 pm; and Sunday, Dec. 2, from 1 to 4 pm.

Also, the Greene County Medical Center Foundation is again honoring the holiday season with the Tree of Life. Area residents are invited to purchase an ornament for $25 in a loved one’s name. The ornament will be placed on the Tree of Life and displayed until Tuesday, Dec. 18. A remembrance service will be held in the medical center cafeteria Wednesday, Dec. 19, when the ornaments will be given to the purchaser. A short program and refreshments will follow. Persons who want more information can call Hollie Roberts at 515-386-0108.
