First of two work bees on Webb House roof

Putting a  new roof on the Webb House Saturday morning was a multi-generational project, with a crew of 17 persons ranging in age from 13 to older than 70 pitching in.

Organizers planned to do the entire job in one day, but with rain predicted for the afternoon, they worked to complete the east side of the roof first. They’ll reconvene Saturday, Oct. 27, to do the west side. More volunteers are welcome, of course.

The $3,100 cost of supplies comes from the Webb House’s cash on hand; donations to replenish the account are welcome. Call the First United Methodist Church at 515-386-4411 for contact information.
