Halloween triple play becomes a grand slam with addition of concert

Families can mark their calendars now with a new addition to the Halloween triple play held annually in Jefferson.

For the past several years the Greene County Community Center staff, Greene County Chamber and Tourism and the Jefferson public library staff have collaborated to provide area children a free Halloween party at the Community Center, Trick-or-Treat Around the Square, and a storybook dramatization and open house at the library.

This year, the Greene County Schools instrumental music department is adding a Halloween-themed concert to wrap up the day, Thursday, Oct. 25.

The concert will begin at 7 pm and will involve music students in grades 6-12. All are invited, particularly young children and their families. Costumes are encouraged, there will be treat bags  at the end of the concert for young members of the audience, and there will be picture stations for friends to take selfies together.

The spook-tacular concert is being coordinated by middle school band director Bob Palmer.
