Rams lose five of six games of v’ball triangular in Gilbert

The Ram varsity volleyball team lost both matches at a triangular in Gilbert Sept. 13.

The Rams won their first game against the Carroll Tigers 25-19, but lost the next two, 20-25, 11-15. The Rams lost all three games against the Gilbert Tigers 13-25, 18-25, 6-25.

Against Carroll, the Rams served at 93.2 percent, their best serving of the season. Paige Heaning and Kara Reed were both perfect at the service line, with Heaning at 10 of 10 and Reed at 11 of 11. Sophie Havens made 11 of 12 serves, Aubrey Heupel made nine of 10, Brianna Osterson made eight of nine  and Lily made six of 7 .

Luisa Stompo had 11 kills and Muir had nine. Muir and Havens both had seven digs and Heupel had 22 assists.

Against Gilbert, the Rams served at 82.9 percent, their worst serve percentage. Heupel, Osterson and Havens were all perfect at the line, with Heupel at eight, Osterson at seven and Havens at six. The Rams were at the service line only 39 times total, compared to their 59 serves against Carroll.

Muir led in kills against Gilbert with seven and Stompo added six. Muir led in digs with seven. Heupel had 17 assists.
