Ram girls seventh, boys 14th at Panorama cross country meet

The Greene County girls placed seventh and the boys placed 14th at the Panorama cross country invitational Thursday at the Panora Golf Club.

Sophomore Conner Allender paced the Rams with a time of 23:52, good for 16th place. Other places and times and were Kassie Lamoureux, 25th, 24:39; Makala Kafer, 29th, 25:22; Ashlee Harmeyer, 54th, 26:49; Izzy Bravard, 55th, 26:49; Tieryn Tucker, 87th, 31:35; and Kirsten Lamoureux, 90th, 32:01. Allender and Kafer are both sophomores; all other runners are juniors.

The winning time was 19:43 set by Peyton Pogge of Tri-Center.

Team scores for the girls were Panorama 53, Earlham 90, Adair-Casey/Guthrie Center 99, Tri-Center 143, Nodaway Valley 145, Madrid 170, Greene County 179, Woodward-Granger 240, Mount Ayr 246, Southeast Valley 257, Boyer Valley 22, Van Meter 295, Ogden 302, CAM 335, Colo-NESCO 423, and Woodward Academy 513.

The Rams finished 14th of 20 teams in the boys race.

Sophomore Luis Velazco was the first Ram across the finish line in 20:41, good for 52nd place. Other places and times were sophomore Connor Brus, 65th, 21:06; senior Jack Bryson, 66th, 21:12; freshman Logan Woodruff, 68th, 21:24; junior Trevor Lebeck, 93rd, 22:21; junior Brian Hardaway, 112th, 23:52, and freshman Jayden Carstensen, 116th, 24:13.

The winning time was 16:59 set by Sean McDermott of Madrid. His team placed first with 31 points.

Other team scores were Nodaway Valley 86, A-C/GC 149, Des Moines Christian 153, Earlham 196, Tri-Center 201, Mount Ayr 238, Van Meter 240, Woodward Academy 258, IKM-Manning 275, Ogden 284, Woodward-Granger 313, West Central Valley 341, Greene County 344, Boyer Valley 352, Southeast Valley 376, Panorama 377, Ankeny Christian Academy 434, Colo-NESCO 484, and CAM 514.

The Rams will run at Roland-Story next Thursday, Sept. 20.
