Summer reading program wraps up at Churdan library

The Churdan public library wrapped up its summer reading program. Prizes were awarded to all participants.

Winners of the “guess the number of jingle bells” were Jared Dawson and Carson Rose. Each boy received a guitar in keeping with the summer reading theme “Libraries Rock.” (The correct number of jingle bells was 99.)

The library staff and board thanked  Churdan businesses, the Greene County supervisors, and Communities 4 Children and Community Partnerships for Protecting Children/Neighborhood/Community Network mini grant for supporting the many activities possible during the summer to help children avoid the “summer slide” in reading.
